The United States is just the 85th most peaceful nation on earth, according to the fourth annual Global Peace Index (GPI), a statistical ranking based on 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators — from political stability and military expenditures to gun sales, violent crime and "respect for human rights." I just heard on the news that the Consumer Confidence Index was up for March at 52.5, up 6.1. I don't really follow this or understand it, but I usually notice whether it is up or down.
